Georgian Frame Gallery is a unique boutique located in the heart of Collingwood that specializes in customized picture framing, prints, photos, jerseys, sculptures, art print posters, needlework and mirrors. Although they offer artwork and unique prints in their boutique they stay out of the original artistry market and carry all reproductions. Margo purchased the business from her father in 1996, although it was established in the community since 1983.
Their Story
The roots of the business derived from Margo’s father and his passion for photography. Margo’s father was a professional photographer for a number of years, certified under the professional photographers of Canada group. In 1979 Margo’s parents moved up to the Collingwood area and purchased a chalet to enjoy the beautiful skiing during the winter. It didn’t take long for them to fall in love with the community and realize the need for a business in the framing and art niche. Margo’s father used his passion for art and photography to give back to the community through his business. Prior to Margo purchasing the business from her father, she gathered extensive experience in the retail industry in Downtown Toronto. Margo was the manager of Bowrings in the Eaton Centre for many years, which is the second biggest retailer in North America. When the opportunity became available, she did not hesitate to purchase her father’s business and transfer her skills to a business in our amazing community.

One of Margo’s most memorable emotional experiences with a customer was when she customized a family’s war medal, which was extremely heartwarming for herself and the customer’s family.
